Dreaming Self Portraits by Violet Blue
Taking photos of yourself is incredibly embarrassing, which is strange, because you’ve taken a picture of You, at some point on your timeline. You can lie; that’s what we liars do. But if you’ve ever touched a camera, you’ve taken a self-portrait just to see what you look like when you’re not staring at your backward reflection.
Posting self-portraits on the internet for anyone to see is even more embarrassing. It looks easy, especially if you’re 12 and/or spend a lot of time on myspace or browsing craigslist.
Actual photo quality aside, it’s difficult and vulnerable to come up with ideas for interesting self-portraits, especially when anonymous-comment pussies come piss on your party, just to see if their stains spread.
I don’t have the balls to do what Violet does with her self-portraits. But I love looking at them, and this new set is pretty blue.
