The Black Generation Gap
WPR’s To The Best of Our Knowledge has a fantastic show about the differences between America’s civil rights generation and the growing hip-hop generation. The discussions are far removed from the stupid, frightened mainstream dialogues on race, and offer a fascinating dose of social and political mind honey (i.e. 35% of voters between the ages of 18-45 are registered independents, despite what the current democratic press houses would have you believe about black = democrat).
Fuck diamonds, glass ceilings, guns and white guilt. This is the kind of stuff we should be talking about when we talk about race, if we dare to talk about race beyond our comfort zones.
